"After training for multiple marathons I had torn the meniscus in my knee.  This problem affected my workouts and I felt I needed more variety than I could come up with myself.  I then decided to train with Jon...

I never thought I needed a trainer due to my educational background and the fact that I was consistent with my workouts.  Right after I started working with Jon, I realized consistency gets you nowhere if you're not doing the right things.  Jon's workouts are intense without being insane.  He knows when and how far to push without the client saying 'this is ridiculous'.  I noticed my legs and core got stronger and this in turn improved my running.  His knowledge of anatomy and physiology is extensive and he applies it to a personalized program which helped me achieve my goals.  He's a very dedicated trainer (and he's pretty funny, too!)

Nicole Karatzia - B.S. Exercise Physiology, Physical Education Teacher, ACE Personal Trainer

"Like many people, I joined a local gym with the aim of becoming more fit.  Around the age of 50, I noticed I was developing a weight problem that I could not control.  Jon Rimmer offered a course at this gym on how to become fit with regard to diet and exercise. I signed up and attended. At that time, Jon was offering training sessions and I elected not to sign up.   (I had this great gym at my disposal 7 days a week – why would I sign up for sessions?)

He and two associate fitness trainers spoke about how your metabolism is a choice.  Yay!  Exactly what I needed to hear but I thought if I just increased the amount of weight I pressed on the weight machines, I could succeed on my own.  I used a treadmill and a recumbent bike at home and I found my appetite soaring.  I was “exercising” regularly using a variety of machines and was getting heavier and bulkier.

Feeling deflated, I looked at the latest OTC product that would eliminate fat from your body. Since it also eliminated all fat soluble vitamins, I knew this was not the course for me.  I did feel a little desperate. Unfortunately I had no professional guidance and my effort to lose a few inches and pounds and increase my strength and endurance was frustrating and unsuccessful.

Then arrives an email from The Training Rim and I noticed Jon was training with kettle bells at his own training facility.    Not knowing what kettle bells were, I contacted Jon thinking maybe this will work for me.  Jon assured me that anyone could work out with kettle bells. I was worried about exacerbating a knee injury I had been living with for a few years (caused by previous improper workout postures).

I signed up for small group personal training at The Training Rim and have to say this is exercise at its best.  I cannot imagine ever not training with this knowledgeable and dedicated group of trainers.  The sessions are small and each person receives personal attention, insuring proper form.  Each session includes a strength, core, and cardio component.  Kettle bells are always included and they are so much fun.  The workouts are brief and intense, designed to maximize one’s potential.  I have improved endurance, flexibility, balance, tone, and my knee has never bothered me. I have dropped a whole size and expect to keep improving."

"Training with Jon is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I received knowledge and experience on how to take care of my body. I tell everyone who mentions working out or training to immediately see Jon - there’s no one better. Time and time again I tried to place in a Miss America Preliminary and with his help I finally accomplished that goal - Thanks Jon!”

Janise Haberstroh - 2005 Miss NJ Finalist, 2003 Miss Latina NJ , 2003 Miss American Co-ed NJ

“I went to train with Jon to improve my explosiveness on the soccer field - we trained with various exercises including lots of lunges, speed ladder drills and lots of weighted movements. I trained with Jon for 3 weeks and saw an increase in strength and speed immediately - even my coach noticed a difference. I also became aware of precautions to consider when strength training that I wasn’t aware of prior to training with Jon. Jon is truly a gifted trainer and real fun to be around!”

Nick Danna - Soccer, Notre Dame

"Jon Rimmer is one of the best trainers in the nation.  I can say unequivocally that Jon is the only trainer I would trust with my clients and athletes.  He is intelligent, and his practical ways of applying that know-how are even more impressive.  It isn’t often that you meet trainers at the level that Jon is at; employing his services would be a wise addition to your training."

Jon Messner - Trainer, MS Exercise Science

"As a fellow student and professional in the field of fitness and performance training, I am honored to have Jon as a colleague. A trainer and coach like him is hard to find in this growing field. A true professional, Jon is passionate about his work, sincerely interested in the well-being and personal achievement of his clients, and committed to continuing his education and development and supports and encourages his staff to do the same. He is also a reliable and trustworthy colleague - if I have a question or want an informed opinion on a particular training method or in the area of injury prevention, I know I can trust what he has to say because he 1) has the hands-on experience and 2) has read the latest literature on the matter. If you are considering becoming a client, do it. You're in good hands. No. In GREAT hands. If you are establishing a business relationship with Jon, do it. He is a stand-up, trustworthy professional."

Ivonne Berkowitz - Health Coach at Take Care Health Systems, MS Exercise Science

"I have had the pleasure of knowing and working Jon Rimmer for the past few years.  Jon introduced me to core strength training and it not only enhanced my career as a personal trainer but helped me to reach higher levels of performance in racing.  I have had the opportunity to run several marathons over the last few years and by working with and learning new techniques from Jon my times have dramtically decreased.  In 2005 I ran my first marathon in 3:50 just recently in 2008 I ran the NYC ING Marathon in 3:10.  Hard work and dedication in the gym pays off as well as the skills and techniques learned from Jon."

"Since attending the small group sessions on a consistent basis, I have seen dramatic results in my core strength, endurance and have an overall sense of well being.  My body is toned, my clothes fit better, and I feel energized.  Best of all, my twenty year old daughter’s friends tell me that my butt looks better than theirs.  Now that’s a compliment to Jon!

Jon is an incredibly talented trainer who truly has his client’s best interests in mind.  His classes are challenging yet taught in a fun, relaxed format.  His style of training is easy to understand even for the novice client.  Jon is an intelligent, dedicated professional and motivator.  I can’t sing his praises enough.  I can say with certainty that training with Jon has been a privilege and one of the best investments I have made in myself.  Thanks, Jon!”
