Training Continuum

Although there are adjustments made for intensity and degree of difficulty within the workouts, all our clients are trained with the same goal in mind - to move more efficiently. All benefits of exercise, whether they be performance related, health related or aesthetic improvement, come from this tenet.

The following aspects of human movement and exercise are universal and need to be addressed whether you’re a professional athlete or a grandparent.

Stabilization Training

“You can’t shot a cannon from a canoe.” That’s an expression I heard years ago and I’ve never forgotten it. The same concept applies to the human body - if you are a wobbly stack of joints, you’ll never be able to produce optimum force. By improving your ability to stabilize yourself in a multi-planar, multi-level environment, you’ll reduce the chance of injury and improve your strength and power.

Core Training

Most people think core training is sit ups and back extensions. The center of the body is a highly complex area responsible for stabilizing and keeping the body upright while simultaneously generating huge amounts of force. Training your body to extend and rotate the hips while simultaneously stabilizing the spine is crucial to athletics, aesthetics, and a healthy back and knees.

Damn! Now THAT's a triple extension!

Strength Training

Your ability to move weight without the aid of a bench or machine is the true test of strength. Most common gym exercises give you what may be confused as strength - this “strength” can never be applied to real life function or situations. True strength training is strength you can use everyday, everywhere.

Reactive Power Training

The ability to stop and start your body’s momentum while changing directions is a skill used by pro athletes and senior citizens alike. Whether the goal is a higher vertical leap, or simply getting down the stairs easier - the process is the same, and equally important to all of us.

Flexibility

Flexibility is NOT touching your toes or twisting into a pretzel. It is being able to use all joints optimally and simultaneously to perform everyday activities safely and effectively. Performing your daily tasks, whatever they may be, without pulling a muscle or complaining of pain and/or tightness - that’s flexibility.
